Annual Exhibition April 6th & 7th 2019

Another annual exhibition is now over and we hope an enjoyable time was had by all. As usual, a huge thanks go to all those who’ve supported the event, especially:

  • The Exhibition organisers for all their hard work in making the show run smoothly
  • The Nailsea School Team for their helpfulness and support
  • The Catering team
  • All our Exhibitors and Traders for helping to make a great show
  • All the Club members who turned out to man the doors, shift tables & chairs and help out where needed
  • All you members of the public who paid to come to the show – our very special thanks to you!

Set up for the show began on Friday evening with Nailsea and District Model Railway Club members moving tables and chairs in the School’s atrium and the classroom that was to be used. Once the space had been cleared, marking out for where each of the exhibitors and traders were to be began. Due to a mis-interpretation of the plan, a couple of the locations of layouts were swapped around, however there was still space to accomodate everyone without any major problems and everything was marked out before the exhibitors arrived. Unfortunately, Modelmania and Just in Case were unable to attend the show as intended this year due to vehicle problems while travelling to Nailsea. The vacant space where their stands should have been was however, filled in last minute on Sunday morning with some G gauge trains, which provided some additional interest for the visitors, so thanks go to Rich for stepping in with those at such short notice.

After set up was completed on the Saturday morning, opening time provided a busy start to the exhibition with a steady flow of visitors streaming in. As usual, the Sunday had a quieter steady flow of visitors arriving throughout the day. Overall the weekend saw another successful show, with almost 1000 people visiting across the two days and donations taken for the show guides once again raising moeny for the Children’s Hospice South West.

As usual, a few photos taken during the weekend are in the gallery below:
