HO Gauge at Upcoming Open Day 2014

Monday 3rd November 2014

While the rest of the layouts appearing at the Nailsea and District Model Railway Club’s Open Day on the 7th December this year are owned by individual club members, one of the layouts will be the club owned HO layout.

The ‘New Mexico Railroad Museum’ is a mixed gauge HO scale layout depicting a fictional Railroad Museum in the city of Santa Fe. With both Standard Gauge and Narrow Gauge trains operating in a museum environment, there’s plenty of operational interest in just 6 feet of space. Not forgetting the use of a DCC system allowing the use of sound chips in all the locomotives adding extra realism to the display. More details and a few pictures of this layout can be found in the Club Layouts section of the website here.

Also, while on the subject of club owned layouts, don’t forget our other club layout, ‘Norton Vale’, will be on display this Saturday at the Thorncombe Modelex, a model railway exhibition run by Thorncombe Railway Activities Club (TRAC), near Chard. For full details of their show, click here.

Check back next week for more information on some of the displays that will be at our Open Day.
