May 2018 Update
Friday 4th May 2018
Since the last update, we have had two talk evenings. The first was about baseboard construction and the second about photographic backscenes. Both talks had some useful information for those Club members who haven’t built their own baseboards or are yet to add backscenes to their existing layouts. The photo below shows the underside of a baseboard under construction with built in legs fitted that fold underneath when in storage.
We’ve also had various activities on our modelling evenings where our Club members have progressed with items both for Club layouts and their own projects. Included in these and pictured below was the construction of some lengths of OO point rodding from a Wills kit, which will be fitted to one of our Club members’ layouts.
Finally, some of the locomotives seen on the test track evenings are pictured below. These include a DB Köf II on the Gauge 1 test track, an EM gauge ex-Somerset and Dorset 0-6-0 tender engine, a Hornby GWR 2800 tender engine and a recently released Andrew Barclay tank engine from Hattons, also in GWR livery.
