October 2016 Update
Thursday 20th October 2016
The last month has shown continued progress with the wiring on Club layout Nailsea Wharf, with this last meeting even managing a brief test run of a locomotive which has identified a couple of areas that require adjustment. All being well, Nailsea Wharf will be on display at this year’s Open Day in Yatton on Sunday 4th December. Click here to see the details of the Open Day on our Events page.
This months talk evening was a discussion on track laying with plenty of tips for those starting to lay track on their own layouts. The collective railway modelling experience of our members bringing about a discussion that proves there’s more than one way to get a similar end result.
Finally for this update are a few photos from our latest Running Evening. Amongst the items of rolling stock our members brought along to give a test run were a First Great Western Class 150/1 and a recently released USA Dock Tank in OO gauge. In N gauge a Britannia 4-6-2 and a BRCW Type 3 (later Class 33) in BR liveries made an appearance. Also running on the ‘Roundy Round’ was a HO scale New South Wales Class 44 with a mixed goods train while on the Gauge 1 test track was a DB Class 144 Electric Loco.
