New Mexico

The model is intended to represent the, fictitious but plausible, “New Mexico Railroad Museum” in the city of Santa Fe.
In reality Santa Fe was only served by the narrow gauge until the 1940’s when the line from Antonito was abandoned.
The layout assumes that the narrow gauge survived and still delivers the supplies for the museum and other local industries; the standard gauge locomotives just parade about as exhibits. This, of course, gives the excuse to run anything on the standard gauge trackage.
The track is built from commercially available flexible track with handbuilt pointwork using ‘soldered on copperclad’ construction.
Layout size 6ft X 16in with a 3ft space required at the right hand side for the Cassettes.
We bring suitable tables making the total footprint (inc operator space) 9ft 6in X 5ft
Power is Digitrax DCC and all locos are equipped with sound.
Normally has three operators so we can keep both standard and narrow gauge operating and
requires one car for transport.
