Modelling Demo at Upcoming Open Day 2014
Monday 13th October 2014
As well as the model railway layouts on display at the Nailsea and District Model Railway Club’s Open Day on the 7th December this year, there will be a modelling demonstration by our club chairman.
While many model railways start out using ready to run rolling stock or ready to place scenic items produced by the major manufacturers such as Hornby or Bachmann, sometimes exactly what you want is only available as a kit, or not available at all. This is where joining a model railway club can be useful for learning techniques that other people have used when putting together kits (see previous update about our previous ‘kit building evening’ by clicking here)
Visitors to this years Open Day will find our club chairman, David Burnett, happy to explain what he’s doing while demonstrating his modelling skills which have not only been used to build kits, but also to modify them and even build models from scratch. Whether you’ve never built a kit before or have experience assembling lots of models, David will be happy to talk to you.
Check back next week for more information on some of the displays that will be at our Open Day.
