OO Gauge at Upcoming Open Day 2014

Monday 6th October 2014

As part of the Nailsea and District Model Railway Club’s Open Day on the 7th December this year, there will be four OO Gauge layouts on display from three of our members.

The first of these is ‘Rowthorne’ displayed by David Batstone which is based on a BR London Midland through station in Derbyshire during the 1960s. More details and a few pictures of this layout can be found in the Member’s Layouts section of the website here.

Also on display will be ‘Stonebridge Lane’, a layout which is currently under construction that is planned to be able to operate a large collection of diesel locomotives. Although incomplete, this layout will be a good opportunity to see some of the stages a completed model railway goes through and may help people new to the hobby to see some of the methods of construction.

Finally for the OO Gauge displays, there will be two mini layouts demonstrating that there is always space to have an operational model railway indoors.

Check back next week for more information on some of the displays that will be at our Open Day.
