For those members of the Nailsea and District Model Railway CLub who aren’t currently assisting in the preparation work for theis years exhibition, our recent modelling evenings in Clevedon have continued to show a variety of activities.

Amongst the work taking place, one of our members was painting some OO gauge white metal figures, while in 7mm scale, another member was using a set of rollers to gradually curve the panel of an etched brass kit to the correct profile. Photos of these are shown below.

Finally for this update, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the retirement of the Class 52 ‘Westerns’ from British Rail service, pictured below are a few models owned by Nailsea and District Model Railway Club members. In O gauge is the first Western produced, D1000 ‘Western Enterprise’, in it’s original Desert Sand livery while in N gauge is the same locomotive in mid 1960s condition, featuring a Maroon livery under a layer of weathering. Also in N gauge, in pristine late 1960s Maroon livery with full yellow ends, is D1056 ‘Western Sultan’.
