Entwhistle Green was built as an experiment to see if G scale stock would go around corners tighter than 60 cm radius train set track. Reasonable bends of 40mm radius could be made using Peco code 200 NS rail soldered to printed circuit board but it was found that the locos had a tendency to climb out of the track on the tight curves. This was overcome by widening the gauge from 45mm to 47mm.

Entwhistle Green was built on a 4 ft x 6 ft board & included the small station of Entwhistle, 2 sidings & a loco shed. The LGB O & K tank engine would only couple to a coach if it was run cab first due to the overhang on the bends. Some of the accessories were for smaller scales but looked OK on the layout.

The name Entwhistle Green came from an estate agents sign in Lancashire
